Dreams of the Open Sky

When I step out into the open sky
I am bathed in sunlight
As I taste clouds on my tongue
Melting like cotton candy on a summer afternoon

And when the sun sets
The stars twinkle in the sky like little dots we need to connect
As we play tag among the lights
And when I touch your skin
I feel lightening tingle inside of me
As clouds roll across the sky
And soft tender lips kiss mine

When we run through the sand
And feel it sink beneath our feet
And the waves kiss our toes
As we wiggle them and tease the tides
I can feel your hand as I hold it up high
When we run through the sky
On a rainbow of dreams

And we see ghosts in the wind
But we aren't afraid
Because we don't know what to think
While we long for daisies to grow all around us
To bring us life and wake us from our sleep
And when I step out into the open sky
I am bathed in sunlight...
