dA Gemsona Week: Day 6: Corrupted

March 17th 
 Draw your Gemsona completely corrupted, tell us why they are corrupted and why the back-story as to why it happened. Have it relate to March 13th's challenge.

★ Oh No! - Something’s wrong with their gem! Is it corrupted, or cracked maybe…?

Also a version 2 for Gemsona week over on Tumblr! The first version I did had him with a cracked gem, but here's him with a corrupted gem~

Did I go overboard with this? Yes. 
Do I regret that? Nope!
Do I think he'd be simpler if he ever appeared on the actual show like this? Probably!

So basically Jade would become a Chinese dragon if ever corrupted.

I know what you're all thinking: How stereotypical bleh.
But GUYS I AM FROM CHINA. OR AT LEAST MY FAMILY IS, but I'm educated in both of my cultures! I based Jade on Sun wuKong, so you might be asking why he doesn't turn into a monkey monster when corrupted (which I considered and I think would be a cool idea), but Jade controls water and how could I pass the opportunity to draw a Chinese dragon up? I haven't done a "detailed" drawing of a Chinese dragon in AGES!

Chinese dragons usually don't control fire in legends. Usually they control water and rain with pearls - but since Jade is a well, jade Gem, I made him use jade orbs instead of pearl ones. I think it'd be totes awesome if he also became a monkey monster, which I might draw sometime!

Now, for the backstory...:
Huh. It's hard to think of one, since the show hasn't explained corrupted gems all that much yet. Maybe his gem got cracked and over a long period of time it somehow became corrupted because something made his emotions go all crazy? Then he became this giant dragon (or monkey!) who guards his treasure with his life, causes floods, hides in a lair under the sea, etc (and if he was a monkey monster, he'd be like how Sun WuKong was originally, causing trouble in the heavens - but in Jade's case, he'd cause trouble down on Earth or in the sky).
